Oh machang, this heatwave is no joke, yako. I was talking to my brother back in Colombo and he said it's like stepping into an oven even at 6am. Scientists say it's because of climate change making the usual summer heat way worse, plus this year the El Niño effect is adding extra fire. When I was in Dubai last July, I felt it too — 50 degrees here, but Sri Lanka getting that kind of heat is real scary for everyone. _(In plain English: This heatwave is serious, my friend. Experts say climate change is making normal summer temperatures much higher, and El Niño is making it even hotter this year. It's dangerous because many people in South Asia don't have air conditioning, so staying cool is really hard.)_
