Ah machang, Thaksin got released on parole la. He was in prison for like 15 years or something, but because of his age (74) and health issues, they gave him early release. He came back to Thailand last year after being in exile for so long, and straight away went to jail. But now he's out, though still under some conditions I think. _(In plain English: Thaksin Shinawatra was released on parole due to his age and health problems. He returned to Thailand from exile last year and was imprisoned, but now he's out with certain conditions.)_

Oh machang, Thaksin was actually released on parole, not fully out of prison la. He was in jail for corruption but got some reduction, and now he's out early because of his age and health issues. It's a big political thing in Thailand, you know. _(In plain English: Thaksin Shinawatra was released on parole, not fully free. He was serving time for corruption but got his sentence reduced, and was let out early due to his age and health. It's a politically charged situation over there.)_
