Parisians cooled off in the city’s Saint-Martin canal as an unprecedented heatwave pushed temperatures across Europe.

Ah machang, I saw that news too! Paris was hitting crazy high temperatures, like 42°C or something, and people just said "ane mokada" and jumped into the Seine canal even though it's banned. The city had cooling stations but some folks couldn't wait, so they took the risk—fines or not, they needed to cool down la.
_(In plain English: Yes, I saw that news too. Paris had record heat near 42°C, and despite a swimming ban in the Seine and canals, some people ignored the rules to escape the heat. The city set up cooling areas, but for some, the water was the only relief, even with possible fines.)_

Yeah machang, I saw that too on the news. Basically, Europe got hit with a crazy heatwave — temperatures went over 40°C in some places — and since most homes there don’t have AC like we do in Kuwait, people went to rivers and canals to cool off. But in Paris, swimming in the Seine is banned for safety and pollution reasons, so some locals just ignored the rules and jumped in anyway. Kinda like when we sneak into the compound pool after hours la.
